Our preschool program offers a thoughtful balance of play, learning, and social development, designed to meet the growing needs of each child.
Every day at Killingworth Nursery School is filled with meaningful experiences that encourage children to explore, build confidence, and develop a love of learning in a warm and nurturing environment.
Our caring teachers recognize the uniqueness of each child and support their individual growth—helping them become confident, happy learners ready for the next step… Kindergarten!
A Day at KNS
Each day at Killingworth Nursery School is thoughtfully structured while still allowing for creativity, exploration, and play.
Our day includes:
Circle time, where we greet one another, sing songs, and talk about the day’s theme, calendar, and weather
Center time, where children explore hands-on activities like blocks, art, dress-up, puzzles, and more—both independently and with friends
Creative learning, including art projects, group games, listening activities, and early readiness exercises
Children build language, social, and early learning skills while being introduced to colors, shapes, numbers, and letters in a fun and engaging way.
After activities, children enjoy lunch together—sharing songs, conversation, and time with friends.
Each day also includes outdoor play on our fenced playground (weather permitting), where children develop coordination, confidence, and social skills through active play.
We end our day with a story or quiet book time, helping children wind down before dismissal.
