KNS featured in the Aug. 2018 edition of the Killingworth Krier

For over 60 years, Killingworth Nursery School has been providing fun learning experiences for pre-school age children in our town and surrounding towns.  We are a non-profit, cooperative school, located on the lower level of the Congregational Church of Killingworth at 273 Route 81.

Every day at Killingworth Nursery School is filled with a variety of activities to help prepare 3 – 5-year olds for future school success.  Our warm, caring, experienced teaching staff relates daily concepts and themes in a secure, stimulating environment both in the classrooms and outside on the fenced in playground.  Each child has an opportunity to explore his/her environment at his/her own pace.  Teachers encourage children to expand their interests and creativity as they engage in exciting learning opportunities.  Throughout the school year children enjoy special days and field trips that extend the curriculum.

Families can choose either a two or three day a week program from 9-11:30am with an option for extended day till 1:00pm.  We also offer a “Terrific Tots” program for two-year olds and a caregiver one day a week from 9:30-11am.  As a cooperative school, parents/caregivers play an active role in the school community, e.g., providing snacks, serving on the board, fundraising, cleaning building and grounds etc.

At Killingworth Nursery School, learning is exciting!  All children are accepted, as they are curious, spirited, adventurous lovers of life!.  We strive to bring a sense of fulfillment and joy to every child; creating confident, happy preschoolers.
